A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester

Imagen
One of the courses that I’ve liked the most so far is called Evolution, which is clearly centered on that subject. At first, they taught us the origin of everything, of the universe and the Earth, and the big changes that have elapsed during history. Also, we have studied the origin of life of the different species that have ever lived on this planet and the ones that are still living with us. Currently, we are learning the origin of the Human being and all its process of hominization until the homo sapiens that we are today. I like this course because of its content, which is very interesting and relevant to get to know our own history, the history of the different species and our ancestors during the historical periods that have occurred. Also, I like it because the teacher is truly compromised with what she does, giving all her enthusiasm on class. Another reason that need to be remarked is that besides of having regular classes on a classroom – where teacher explain us th...

Who is a person/expert on your field that you admire?

The person that I admire in my field is Franz Boas, yes, it is quite old, however it is one of the reasons that I admire him, because within anthropology it produces a change of thought, in contrast to the evolutionism that predominated in his era. Franz Boas (July 9, 1858 - December 21, 1942) was an anthropologist of German origin, but he worked in the United States. He is considered the father of American anthropology. He rejected evolutionism and diffusionism, since he did not believe that the same facts in places and times separated from each other could come from universal laws that would direct the human spirit. He was a representative of the relativist school and, in turn, a forerunner of historical particularism. The most important works where he bases his anthropological thoughts (previously he was a geographer) start coherent with the work methodology, where he highlights the importance of taking the data from the first hand, accepting to travel to the Arctic sea, betwe...

The XX: pleasant sounds

Imagen
I will write about a band that i like me a lot: The xx are an English indie pop band formed in 2005 in Wandsworth, London which currently consists of Romy Madley Croft (guitar, vocals), Oliver Sim (bass, vocals) and Jamie Smith also known as Jamie xx (beats, record production). They are best known for their distinct and unique minimalistic sound that blends the likes of indie pop, indie electronic,  and electronic rock and the dual vocalist setup of both Croft and Sim. Their music employs very soft, echoed guitar, prominent bass, light electronic beats and ambient soundscape backgrounds. I met this band because my cousin recommended it to me, and I liked it a lot. However, the last album that they released did not please me as much as the previous ones, in fact I heard it very little for the same reason. the first two albums I like because it's relaxed music, which leads to another world and the sounds are quite special. I recommend that it's   time to listen to i...

A photograph you like

Imagen
Really, i dont know who taken the picture, but it was taken for a partner in a course walk. what the photo shows are my best friends and me, so happy and a little tired, because in that moment the experience was over and we was in the last stop in the road. But with a lot of memories that we always will have in our minds. That is my favorite photo and i love it, because in some way is casual, leaving in evidencie our essence in the friendship. Besides, despite when we leaving the Lyceum and each one followed a different path, we remain as united as before. Friendship is something very important in our lives, even if it takes years and we know our friends as if they were part of our family, serving as support in bad times and company for laughter
