Bio Data Catalina González
Catalina González
is a chilean students at third year of
Anthropology at University of Chile. Throughout her career she has prepared on
relevant issues in contemporary society, such as indigenous peoples, their
culture and history and resistance to persistent colonialism. In addition, she
has had preparation in research methodologies and has acquired knowledge about
the main social science theorists.
As regards, Catalina's main interests are migration, therefore she has attended seminars
on this topic in 2019.
During her career
she has done research in the area of sexuality and gender, specifically,
focused on asexuality. This is a social group that has been invisible and needs
more diffusion and information to end the prejudices towards them.
That is why she
would like to put anthropology into practice in the area of migration,
sexuality or indigenous peoples. Hoping to contribute something positive to
society. About her personal interests, she think that is essential to learn
other languages to practice her profession better. For this reason, she has
done a Mapudungun course, where she learned the basics of this language.
In her free time,
she like Reading, dancing, trekking and spending time with her Friends. She
resides in Santiago.
